Instructor
Lou Durant
Lou Durant has been involved in sports and teaching practically her whole life. She was a state-level gymnast, cheerleader, and dancer for decades. She then transitioned into coaching and teaching those sports. In addition, Lou has taught martial arts and is a certified yoga instructor.
Lou began her pole journey when she moved to Tucson in early 2019. She quickly moved into an instructor role while continuing to train and eventually began competing in 2021. She won her first competition, the USPSF Master's 50+ Pole Sport US National championship in 2021 and later that year represented Team USA at the POSA World Pole Sport Championships where she won the gold in her division.
Her favorite thing about pole has always been the sense of community and kinship with like-minded individuals. Lou is known for her fun, upbeat choreo and classes that will help dancers level up their strength and sexy while challenging both the body and the mind. She is dedicated to sharing the many aspects of pole with the Tucson community, especially with our military veteran population. As a retired Air Force member and athlete for life, Lou knows first-hand how dance and fitness can bring motivation and joy back into the lives of anyone that might feel disconnected from their body.
Outside of the studio, Lou is a recommended black belt, a mom to three young men and three cats, and little bit obsessed with everything Lego.
