Alyssa
Alyssa grew up in South Carolina where she participated and competed in a large number of sports: taekwondo, swimming, volleyball, dance, cheer, and track. She moved to Tucson in 2016 to attend the UofA for a B.S. in molecular and cellular biology. Once she had obtained her degree, she found her way into rock climbing and enjoyed the challenges this sport presented — problem solving, strength, and balance.
Alyssa was introduced to pole in October 2023 by some great friends and she was immediately hooked... Her rock-climbing body awareness and strength, grace and flexibility from dance, and precision and discipline from taekwondo blended beautifully together to make her the artist she is today. Alyssa loves to try new tricks and create unique combinations. She also enjoys creating numbers using music that connects to her soul.
Alyssa has succeeded at a number of her sports competitions throughout her life. She won gold in taekwondo at the 2010 Junior Olympics. Her team placed 2nd in the SCISA State Cheerleading 2015 Championships. When the opportunity came to try competing in pole sport, she gave it her best shot. She put together and choreographed her own routine and sewed a costume for the 2024 USPSF National Championships where she obtained second place — qualifying for the 2024 POSA World Championships in Cesenatico, Italy. She received great feedback from the judges, tweaked her number, and presented a first-place performance.
Outside of the studio, Alyssa is a mother of 5 (rats) and is studying to obtain a master's of science degree in data science. She loves crafting, doing her nails, singing, and stretching. She is currently working in a neuroscience/psychology lab helping with Alzheimer's and aging memory research. She is also the studio manager for Pole Impact helping where ever she can to give back to a studio that has helped her grow in so many ways.
